Tema var Den gylne regel i vår tid. Han nådde heilt til topps av 4 gode kandidatar frå Odda og Kvinnherad.

Dei øvrige fekk kr. 500,- kvar.

Det var DSS frå distrikt 19 Margarethe Langfeldt og Arild Sirevaag som sto for utdelinga, sammen med str. Herborg Elise Ullensvang og Ellen Gulbrandsen.

Konkurransen og reiseopplegget skriv seg frå en lang tradisjon som går under navnet Odd Fellows and Rebekahs United Nations Pilgrimeage for Youth. Opphavet skriv seg frå presidentfrue Elanor Roosevelt som var Odd Fellow/Rebekkasøster.

Vi ønsker Joakim god tur og er viss på at dette blir ei oppleving han kan ta med seg vidare i livet.

"The problem with the rule is therefore not that people don’t know what to do, but that people are selfish. And a better rule should therefore in my opinion put the focus on compassion and charity, rather than what actions we should do. If we could teach everyone to do unquestionable, unnecessary and unreasonable good things to one another without an excuse, without a request, it would be unnecessary to ask ourselves what we should do, because it would only be natural. "
